At around 2:00 pm on Tuesday, August 23, 2011, a rare earthquake strikes the east coast and effects parts of eastern pennsylvania. Although this was a relatively small tremor and there was no significant damages or injuries, it is still something that should not simply be shrugged off and forgot.
"I was in the house upstairs talking on the phone and I said to my friend, 'I think my house is shaking...?' I don't think he took me seriously though. But a few minutes later he mentioned that people were facebooking about an earthquake!"
It seems to have been the first earthquake experience for many people in some areas. Some people are excited and some are worried. Some are not bothered at all. Some people are even pointing out the 2012 hypothesis (seriously?). It is likely that the earthquake is just a rare phenomonen being nothing more than what it was. But sometimes an earthquake can indiciate future plate movement that we should at least be aware of.
