The phosphorescent component is different than regular fluorescent materials in that it does not immediately release or emit light after absorption. This allows the glow to last for hours but still intensely enough to easily be seen in a dim darkness or pitch blackness.
The luminosity of this tape is a high measure of brightness. The electromagnetic glow is of a greenish-yellow emission, the perfect color for night vision tasks.
